Greetings Professor. Can you explain what is meant by Microstate segmentation in easy terms? There are very few materials available. and I am unable to understand this term. Can you explain it in an easy term?
This link is very good: http://www.scholarpedia.org/article/EEG_microstates
Different patterns of neural activity are reflected in EEG, like the various stages of sleep for one example. Microstate segmentation in the context of sleep EEG data would be classifying segments of the recorded EEG into the various stages of sleep (REM, etc). So now you have a simple short description as well as a link to much more detailed exposition of this topic. Best of luck to you in your studies!
